Casting Day!

Today we had Callan’s casting appointment! This marks the start of the fitting process for his prosthetics and allows the team to create his sockets for the next two fitting appointments, where adjustments will be made as needed. The casting process was fairly easy however Callan didnt handle this very well, his legs are still sensitive they were able to do them both and luckily he calmed down fairly quick afterwards. The casting is basically a mold they use to be able to start constructing what his socket will be like. It’s a really cool process and they even had showed us where the prosthetics are made. It’s incredible to see the amount of detail and work that goes into each custom pair. They think Callan will need a new pair every 6ish months while he’s still growing.

We officially have a Delivery Day scheduled for 2/26 — the day he gets his first pair of leggies! 🦿💙

The worst is finally behind us, and we’re so ready to begin this next chapter. 💪🏼🥹
