Prosthetic process

On 2/12, we went back to ForMotion to try on Callan’s very first “leggie”!!! It was such an overwhelming rush of emotions. Seeing him stand and imagining him finally being able to walk after so long was incredible. He’s already 18 months old, so in many ways it will feel like starting over once he has his legs.

We have four visits total, including the one we just had, so on 3/12 we should be able to bring home his official first pair. The team we have is incredible they really just want Callan to succeed and they already feel like family to us, which is so important. We even got to pick out the fabric that goes under the socket of his prosthetic — he loves trucks, so we chose a truck print just for him.

It’s overwhelming to think about how much strength and hard work it will take for him to learn to walk, but I know he’ll get there day by day. 💙
