A total of 32 days not being able to crawl or move around. 32 days of being uncomfortable and irritated. 32 days of trying to keep an extremely active baby happy. We came up with ways that made him semi happy to pass the day. Some helpful items have been his wagon that we would sit him up in with toys propped up in front of him since he couldn’t reach much. A little tray that we could place in front of him for eating and playing. Never have I wanted him to be able to crawl again more in my life seeing him not be able to has been horrible. Everyone’s excited for the day he’ll be able to walk and in reality I’m just ready for him to be able to move around. The cast has been in place for healing of his bones and for where his stitches are. We know healing of his leggies is the most important so that he’ll have continued success moving forward.
I’m writing this with just 7 days left in the SPICA cast. On January 6, 2026, we return to Mass General for cast removal. One more week. One step closer to movement, freedom, and watching him be himself again.

We cannot wait for him to just be able to be mobile and be able to reach things and be back to his crazy little self. You guys are doing a great job living off of no sleep and keeping him happy and occupied 24/7. <3
