We have always said that this happened to Callan for a greater reason whether it was to teach us something about him, or to show us how to help somebody else going through something similar. I think by writing our story it may be helpful for others.

We started out by meeting with our surgeon when Callan was 2 months old in October 2024 we had a hip ultrasound done and his first set of x-rays. At 8ish months we went back again for another set of x-rays and for another consult with our surgeon to get a baseline idea for what surgery would be like and a time frame. Fast forward to October of 2025 for our final set of x-rays. At this point we had a timeframe for surgery and had discussed a game plan. As much as this has weighed on us the anxiety of waiting to have it done was something we really struggled with, Callan has been pulling himself onto everything and crawls extremely well which is something we really worked on. Seeing all of his little friends starting to be able to walk was sad for us knowing he wouldn't be able to until he gets his prosthetics which is quite a process. At this point we have his surgery scheduled for December 5th with his post-op January 6th. This is extremely difficult to process but we know this is the right thing to do. We are extremly grateful everyday for our family and friends that are always asking about Callan and loving him as much as we do. I will continue to try and post on here to keep everyone updated on our journey.
